Do I need to have a logo as a freelancer?

I know freelancing may all be about brand building but that doesn't mean that you need to be focusing all your energy on the brand building. In most cases, freelancers only need to have good names, reputation and even face. When you are so transparent, you may have more people that will trust you even when you have not shown your logo. What do you think? Do freelancers need logo before they can actually become brands?
