Ask Do top freelance platforms actually handle billing and client talks for you?

One of the big selling points of using a managed freelance platform is that someone else handles the admin side of the work. Things like sending invoices and following up on payments can take a lot of time. Some people say top platforms handle most of that for you, but others say the freelancer still has to manage a lot. Do platforms like Toptal or Upwork actually take care of billing and client communication, or is most of that still on you?
 
I think upwork does this very well for you. They give you the opportunity to do the talk by themself or you communicate with the prospect by yourself to avoid confusion. Most important thing is that both freelancer and the client needs to be on the same page as far as the project is concerned.
