Do I really need a written contract for small freelance projects under $500?

Having a written contract protects the freelancers and even the clients. It is always better when you have all what you need in a written document where you will have all things documented. This will not make it difficult for you to claim your money after the tasks have been done. Apart from that, it will spell out more of your scope of works. This will not let there be cheating. What do you think about this?

If you're acting like an independent freelance and your client is demanding a written contract for a small project you can decide whether you will accept it or not. But if you tap it that you are on a freelance marketplace I will advise you to take it just add more to the amount you're going to make for the week
