Ask Do freelance platforms read the messages you send to clients?

This is something many freelancers think about but rarely ask out loud. Most platforms state in their terms that they can monitor messages to enforce their rules, especially to catch people trying to move conversations outside the platform. Whether they actively read every message or just scan for certain keywords is something platforms do not fully explain. Knowing that your messages might not be private changes how some freelancers communicate with clients. How do you handle your client conversations knowing the platform may have access to them?
