Behind the scenes content can make a brand feel more real because people get a look at the work, planning, and people involved. It can show honesty and help followers feel connected to the brand. At the same time, poor quality or careless posts may create the wrong impression. The way the content is presented often matters more than the idea itself. Do you think behind the scenes content helps a brand appear more trustworthy?

Behind the scenes content feels more real to me. Like when a small brand shows their packaging process or a mistake they fixed, I actually trust them more after that. It's not about being polished, it's about feeling like there's a real person running things.

Depends on the brand honestly. A luxury brand showing behind the scenes might actually hurt them. Part of why people pay premium prices is the mystery and the image. Once you see the warehouse and the regular people packing boxes, something about that feeling goes away.

The unprofessional angle is usually just people who grew up thinking business means suits and formal language. Most buyers these days have seen enough polished ads to be tired of them. A shaky phone video of your team working can land better than a produced ad.

I think what really matters is whether the behind the scenes content feels natural or planned. You can always tell when a brand is doing it just because they heard it builds trust. That forced version of realness is actually worse than just being professional and clean.

Nobody talks about how this works differently depending on what you are selling. If you are selling food or handmade things, showing the process makes sense. But if you are a software company showing your team meetings and office culture, most customers genuinely don't care about any of that.

Something i have noticed is that small brands benefit from this more than big ones. When a big company does it, it feels like a campaign. When a one-person business shows you how they make their product, you actually believe them. Scale changes how people receive it.

Brands that share behind-the-scenes content usually build more trust because it makes them feel real and transparent people get to see the process, not just the polished result. However, it can look unprofessional if the content is messy without a clear purpose or if it exposes things that undermine confidence (like poor quality control or disorganization). The key is controlled authenticity: showing enough reality to feel genuine, while still maintaining standards and narrative.
