I work as a freelance copywriter and pomodoro felt too rigid for me. I am now using the 52-17 method instead with 52 minutes of deep work and 17 minutes to reset. I am blocking my calendar for 3 cycles each morning and keeping Slack closed during the work blocks. The longer focus time helps me finish complex drafts without constant stopping. I am also taking real breaks to walk and stretch.
