Ask Can a client reduce the agreed payment after the work has already been submitted and accepted?

Once a client accepts your work, most freelancers assume the payment part is settled. But some people have shared stories where a client tried to reduce the agreed amount even after the job was marked as done. It is hard to know how common this is or how platforms actually handle it when it happens. Some platforms seem to protect the freelancer in situations like this, but I am not sure how strong that protection really is. Has anyone been through this, and how did it go?
