Getting a new client to pay something before the work begins is one of the things many freelancers struggle with, because trust has not been built yet. The client does not know your work, and you do not know theirs, so both sides are taking a risk. Some freelancers use portfolios, testimonials, or offer a small paid test task to ease the client into it. Others have a clear contract ready that makes the arrangement feel more professional and secure. What approach has worked for you when trying to get upfront payment from someone who does not know you yet?

First thing you need to know is that not every client will end up patronizing your gig. Most important thing is that you do the necessary things in which include setting up your profile very well and make sure you provide good good portfolio. Make sure you have a good customer relationship and provide quick answer quick answer
