Your email open rate may be low for several reasons. Your subject line might not be compelling enough to grab attention. It's essential to craft subject lines that spark curiosity or offer value. Your email might be landing in spam folders, which can happen if your email provider has low sender reputation. Poor targeting could also be an issue; if your emails are sent to an irrelevant audience, they may not engage. Lastly, timing plays a crucial role. If you send emails when your recipients are least likely to open them, your open rate will be low.
 
Email marketing is very delicate. Any mistake from any angle can deter the effective result. This is the reason why email marketers need to put their attention while using this method. Firstly, the email contents must not be too long not to bore the audience, and must not be too short to capture the main theme. It should have a strong CTAs that will catch attention of the audience. The timing is very important as well..
 
One thing I'd add is checking how old your email list is. If you haven't cleaned it in a while, you might have lots of dead email addresses or people who just aren't interested anymore. These inactive subscribers hurt your overall open rates and can damage your sender reputation with email providers. Try sending a "we miss you" campaign to people who haven't opened emails in 6+ months. Either re-engage them or remove them from your list. A smaller, active list performs much better than a large inactive one.
 
A low email open rate usually happens when the subject line isn't catching attention. People decide whether to open an email in seconds, so boring or vague subject lines can make them skip it. Another reason could be timing—sending emails when your audience is busy or inactive often lowers opens. Also, if your list has outdated or unengaged contacts, open rates drop. Testing subject lines, segmenting your audience, and cleaning your list regularly usually helps.
