Ask Why is my Elementor exit intent pop-up so erratic in terms of appearance?

I'm having a horrible time trying to implement an Elementor popup on a new site.

Now, the site is using the Hello Elementor theme and both the regular and pro versions of Elementor plugins are installed.

The popup is supposed to display on exit intent and if the user is idle for 10 seconds.

The problem is that sometimes it displays, and sometimes it doesn't. And, when it does, it shows up in weird places. Mostly, it shows up UNDER the footer of the website. Like, the popup pushes the entire page up and acts like IT is the footer.

Here are some screenshots:

Notice how the popup spans the width of the whole page AND is under the footer?

I have no idea how this happened or how to fix it.

Anyone who is experienced with Elementor and popups, I'd love your help.

I've had the same problem before. Elementor exit pop-ups can act weird because of how the exit intent is detected. Sometimes it triggers too early, sometimes too late, depending on the browser, screen size, or mouse movement. Also, if you have caching or optimization plugins on your site, they can delay or prevent the popup from appearing correctly. Clearing cache and testing without optimization plugins often helps fix erratic behavior.

This looks like a positioning issue. In the popup settings, check the Z-index to make sure it's higher than other elements on the page. That should keep it from showing under the footer. Also, double-check your triggers—sometimes combining exit intent and idle time can make popups act weird. Updating Elementor and the theme might also fix bugs. If nothing works, reach out to Elementor support—they're pretty responsive.

A lot of it comes down to how browsers handle some trigger it too soon, too late, or not at all. If you've got caching or optimization plugins, they can mess with the pop-up script too. Slow-loading pages can make it act weird as well. Plus, it's all about how people move their mouse. Honestly, just double-check your settings, clear your caches, and test it in different browsers.
