Ask Why does Bitdefender still have ads in spite of subscription fee?

I switched to Bitdefender a while back from Avast and have been very pleased with its performance and ease of use. I pay for a subscription and there are still occasionally popup advertisements for their other products. These popups aren't your typical windows notification-sized popups either, they're gigantic, probably 1/5 of the screen resolution.

STOP this nonsense bitdefender, this honest customer will stop paying in a second. Windows defender works just fine.

From what I've read, even paid versions of Bitdefender sometimes show ads because the company wants to promote other products or services. Some of these popups are not really traditional ads, but suggestions for features like VPN upgrades or new tools. Users feel it is annoying, but the company probably thinks it's a way to let people know about extras they might not be using. It doesn't mean your subscription isn't working, it's more about upselling.

That's really disappointing to hear. When you pay for a service, the last thing you want is to see ads, especially ones that big. It makes it seem like they care more about upselling than customer satisfaction. I'd probably feel the same way and look for other options. Hopefully, Bitdefender listens to feedback like this because it's a great product otherwise, but ads can ruin the experience for loyal customers.
