Many people still prefer reading when making buying decisions because text gives them time to think and understand information at their own pace. When someone reads a product review or comparison article, they can pause, reread, and even search for more details. Videos can feel fast or distracting, while text allows focus on key points like price, features, or user experiences. Some people also trust written content more because it feels like someone carefully explained their honest opinion rather than a rehearsed presentation. For example, a long blog post about phone performance may feel more genuine than a short product video. What kind of content usually influences your buying decisions the most?

Text lets them go at their own pace, skip what they don't care about, and really zoom in on the details. It can feel more trustworthy too, especially if it's from blogs or forums, because they can check the facts and see the good and bad before deciding. Plus, text is super easy to search if you just want one bit of info instead of watching a whole video. Basically, it's all about having control, getting the info you actually need

A good video shows you exactly how something works, how big it actually is compared to other objects, and catches problems you would never notice from reading. Text can lie or exaggerate easily, but video has to show the real thing. If you're making a serious buying decision, why would you trust words over seeing it with your own eyes?

This whole "text is faster" argument falls apart when you realize most written reviews are filled with SEO garbage and affiliate links everywhere. You end up skimming through ten paragraphs of nonsense just to find one useful fact. A well-edited video gets to the point in two minutes and shows you everything that matters.

People who prefer text for buying decisions are usually overthinkers who will never be satisfied no matter how much information they consume. They will read five reviews, watch three videos, check Reddit threads, and still not buy anything because they are paralyzed by options.
