Why do some people do make use of pseudonym profiles on Fiverr?

I have seen different profiles on Upwork that doesn't belong to the real owners but people from another country. I could remember the first time I wanted to have my Upwork account, I was told I need to use fake profile to make my account accepted fast. I don't really believe that until I was convinced by someone that I thought he should be a mentor. Why do most people prefer starting their freelancing journey with fake profiles?
