Emails without images sometimes do very well because the message feels clean, fast to read, and friendly on any device. Many people open emails on their phones, and plain text loads faster and looks simple. When the writing is clear and personal, readers often focus on the words instead of design. Too many images can distract from the main idea, and sometimes pictures make the email look like an advertisement, which people ignore. Good writing with gentle storytelling or helpful tips can connect better than a colorful design. Have you noticed if some simple text emails feel more real and easier to read than image-heavy ones?
 
Plain-text emails often work better because they feel personal, like a real message from a person rather than a promotion. They load instantly, are easier to skim on a phone, and keep attention on the message instead of visuals. When the writing is clear and conversational, readers connect more and are more likely to trust what's being said. Image-heavy emails can trigger an "ad" mindset, while simple text feels more genuine and easier to engage with.
 
I think, some emails perform better without images because they feel more personal and direct. Many people are used to seeing image-heavy promotional emails, so a simple text-based message can look more like a genuine email from a real person rather than an advertisement
