Many people sign up for newsletters because the offer looks useful at the moment, but they may not be ready to read emails regularly. Sometimes the emails arrive too often, or the subject lines do not clearly explain what is inside. If the first emails do not match what the reader expected when they signed up, interest can drop quickly. Making the emails simple, clear, and focused on one idea at a time helps. Some also start with a small welcome sequence that eases readers into the content before sending regular messages. What reasons have you seen for why subscribers ignore emails after signing up?

Often, it's about attention and habit. People see a signup link, feel curious or motivated in the moment, and hit subscribe, but then life gets in the way. Their inbox is crowded, your subject lines don't stand out, or they forget why they signed up in the first place. Sometimes they just like the idea of receiving content without really committing to reading it. The trick isn't necessarily to get more signups, it's to make your emails irresistible

People sign up for newsletters because it sounds cool but then life happens. Emails pile up, get lost in the spam/promotions folder, or just get ignored. Sometimes the subject lines aren't catchy, or the content doesn't grab them right away. Lots of folks sign up on a whim, thinking I'll check it later, and then never do. It doesn't mean your newsletter sucks. Making emails short, fun, and useful helps, but honestly, some subscribers will always just hang out quietly

Your subject lines might be the problem here. People signed up, which means they were interested at some point, but if your email titles are boring or generic, they will never open them. Subscribers get hundreds of emails every week, so yours has to stand out immediately.

Maybe your emails are ending up in the promotions tab or spam folder without you knowing. A lot of subscribers never check those sections, so even if they signed up willingly, they are not seeing your messages in their main inbox. This can happen if your emails trigger spam filters or if your sender name looks unfamiliar.

Are you sure you are targeting the right audience? The first mistake that people do is that they don't always target the right audience. This is the main reason why they don't always get convinced to carry out the actions that may be expected from the marketers.

One reason is that people sign up with good intention but lose interest later. Maybe the first email caught their attention, but the next ones don't feel as useful or relevant. When the content does not match what they expected, they stop opening even though they didn't unsubscribe.
