The advent of social media can be one of the reasons while there are no more emphasis on marketing. Social media, though a form of marketing, cannot fully perform the role of marketing. Marketing is more than advertising. In fact, marketing is all businesses want itself.

Some may think word of mouth or their product speaks for itself, underestimating how much effort it takes to build awareness and trust in the market. Others see marketing as an expense rather than an investment, especially if they're not immediately seeing a return. There's also a misconception that marketing is all about flashy ads or social media posts, while the real power lies in strategy, customer understanding, and consistent messaging. In reality, effective marketing can make a massive difference in a business's growth
 
Social media has really made it difficult for most people to know the importance of marketing. They don't really know that marketing can make a whole lot of difference if it is used well. It is more than advertising. It entails all what the audience want from a concerned business owner.
 
They're usually super focused on the day-to-day stuff and figure if their product or service is good, people will just buy it. Some feel awkward about promoting themselves, thinking it makes them look pushy. Plus, marketing doesn't always give instant results, so it can feel like a waste. A lot of them also don't really get it, thinking it's just ads or social media posts, instead of a way to connect with customers and build a brand.
 
Marketing cannot be underestimated. In fact, there is no business owners than can do that. I can believe that they may not be using the ones that are expected of them to use. For instance, some of them are still using their staff for the marketing processes instead of switching to modern ways.
 
Sadly as good as marketing in business operation, there are still some people that don't know its usefulness. Some don't even engage in it, they rather engage in things that are not yielding. Some may be thinking that it is so expensive, and therefore they don't need to be involving in it.
 
They figure if their product is good, people will just buy it on its own. Some think marketing is "wishy-washy" or hard to track. Others just don't know much about it, so they ignore it. Plus, some still rely on old-school word-of-mouth and don't realize how crazy competitive things are now. The truth is, marketing is what gets people to notice your business, so skipping it can really hold you back.
 
As a business owner that wants to have more to himself or herself, you don't need to downplay the role of marketing. Marketing plays vital roles in making sure that business grows. It creates a sense of awareness, making people to know more about the products and all what it entails.
