I discuss with a friend who happens to be a freelance and a single mom. To be very honest freelance project can be very demanded especially when it involves high amount of money. This friend of mine has to be sleeping late in the night just to meet the deadline. Sometimes the children are left on attended to just to meet the headline and this is creating a big boarding on her.

The question I want to ask you guys is that Why do freelance moms feel guilty about working late? I will be looking forward to your response in the comment section thanks in advance.

Freelance moms often feel guilty about working late for several reasons:

1. **Pressure to Balance Work and Family:** Freelance moms strive to balance their work commitments with their responsibilities as a parent. Working late may make them feel like they are neglecting their children or not being present for important moments in their kids' lives.

2. **Societal Expectations:** There is a societal expectation for mothers to prioritize their children above all else. When freelance moms work late, they may feel guilty for not conforming to this ideal of motherhood.

3. **Self-imposed Guilt:** Freelance moms may set high standards for themselves, feeling guilty if they don't meet all their work deadlines while also taking care of their children. They might feel like they are letting someone down, whether it's their clients, their children, or themselves.

4. **Comparison to Traditional Work Settings:** In traditional office settings, working late may be seen as dedication and commitment. However, freelance moms may feel guilty because they are working late at home, blurring the lines between work and family time.

5. **Fear of Judgment:** Freelance moms may fear being judged by others for not being fully present for their children or for prioritizing work over family. This fear of judgment can amplify feelings of guilt.

It's important for freelance moms to remember that they are doing their best to provide for their families while pursuing their professional goals. Setting boundaries, seeking support from partners, family, or friends, and practicing self-care can help alleviate some of the guilt associated with working late. Watching out for signs of burnout and prioritizing self-compassion are also crucial in maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
