I believe the behavior of the client are quite different from one freelance marketplace to another. On fiverr freelancer prefer to work at a fixed price and they are majority of them. On upwork there are some clients who are ready to work with you on hourly charges. But it's like those who prefer fix charges are more.

The question I have in mind to ask you guys is that Why do freelance clients prefer fixed pricing over hourly? I will be looking forward to your response in the comment section thanks in advance.

It's true that client preferences can vary between different freelance platforms. The choice between fixed pricing and hourly rates often depends on various factors, which can be influenced by the nature of the project, the client's preferences, and the freelancer's expertise. Here are some reasons why freelance clients may prefer fixed pricing over hourly rates:

1. **Budget Control**: Fixed pricing gives clients better control over their project budget as they know the total cost upfront. This is especially beneficial for clients who have strict budget constraints or want to avoid any surprises in terms of the final cost.

2. **Defined Scope**: With fixed pricing, clients can clearly define the scope of the project and agree on the deliverables with the freelancer. This helps in setting expectations and ensuring that both parties are on the same page regarding the project requirements.

3. **Predictability**: Fixed pricing offers predictability in terms of project costs and timelines. Clients can plan their resources more effectively when they know the exact cost of the project and when it will be completed.

4. **Risk Management**: Clients may perceive fixed pricing as lower risk compared to hourly rates, as they are not concerned about the freelancer taking longer to complete tasks or unexpected additional charges.

5. **Simplicity**: Fixed pricing is often simpler to manage for both clients and freelancers. It eliminates the need for tracking hours worked, calculating billable time, and negotiating rates for every task.

Despite these advantages, there are also situations where hourly pricing may be preferred by clients, such as when the project scope is not well-defined, tasks are likely to be extended, or ongoing support is needed. Ultimately, the choice between fixed pricing and hourly rates depends on the specific project requirements, client preferences, and the freelancer's pricing strategy. Each pricing model has its own pros and cons, and it's essential for freelancers to understand these differences to effectively meet the needs of their clients.
