Ask Why do business owners create social media that they hardly use?

It surprised me when I noticed that there are some business owners that are on some social media platforms but they hardly use them. In fact, I have examples of some of these. They never promote any of their social media platforms.

The engagement is not much on their social platforms. What can make business owners do this? Do you also have examples of social platforms that are into this? Share your experience with them.
 
Honestly, a lot of business owners create social media profiles because they feel like they "should" be there, but they don't have time or a strategy to use them consistently. They think having a page looks professional, even if it's empty or inactive. The problem is that just having accounts won't bring traffic or customers—you need to post regularly and engage with your audience for social media to actually work.
 
Business owners may create social media accounts they rarely use because they want to reserve their brand name on those platforms or feel pressure to be active everywhere. However, without a proper content plan or understanding of the platform's value for their business, they often lose interest or prioritize other channels that deliver better results.
 
Business owners often create social media accounts because they know it's important to be visible online, but many don't use them regularly due to time constraints or a lack of strategy. They might not know what content to post or how to engage with their audience. In some cases, they create accounts just to keep up with competitors or trends, but without a clear plan, the accounts end up inactive.
