A lot of freelancers I have spoken with say 2025 was one of the most difficult years they have experienced in a long time. Work was harder to find, clients were slower to respond, and budgets seemed tighter across many industries. Some people blame AI tools, others point to economic uncertainty, and some feel the market just became more crowded. It felt like the rules changed without any warning. What do you think made 2025 particularly hard for freelancers?
