Why are some freelancers not making enough money on freelancing?

As we have some freelancers that are making more than enough money from freelancing, there are some as well that are not making enough at all. What are the factors that can cause this? Some of them do not put into consideration the competition that are imbedded in freelancing service. This has made them not to be making money as those that have prepared themselves for the journey. Apart from that, what other reasons do you think prevent them from making enough money from freelancing?
