Ask Why am I unable to redirect my domain via Zenfolio?

My domain host is GoDaddy. I use the ".com" domain as the advertised site on my socials to try and sell prints, but I purchased the ".net" version also just to cover my bases.

My website was hosted by Zenfolio until 12/8. I decided not to renew with them and move over to InstaProofs to simplify things. During my year with Zenfolio I also had domain email through Microsoft 365 (also purchased from GoDaddy), but I've canceled that as well (went with a Gmail address). Anyway... I've been in contact with GoDaddy on 5 different occasions since Saturday about getting the sconnieshotz.com domain to forward to the https://sconnieshotz.instaproofs.com address, but I've had no luck. The sconnieshotz.net address works perfectly. Because is a secure site, my forwarding is setup with https and 301 permanent. Also, I went through my DNS entries and deleted a bunch of lines that had to do with add-ons I'd purchased previously. Now, when I compare my DNS entries for the two aforementioned domains (.com & .net), their entries are nearly identical. The only differences being the domain extensions and name servers (which are owned by GoDaddy and I cannot edit).

I've contacted Zenfolio to see if there's anything on their end that could be blocking it, but they said there isn't. I have zero idea why this isn't working at this point.

Any ideas?

I've seen this happen because Zenfolio does not always allow full domain redirection. They mainly let you link your custom domain to your Zenfolio site. If you want the domain to redirect somewhere else completely, you usually have to set it up at your domain registrar or DNS provider. Zenfolio's platform is focused on hosting your galleries, so their domain tools can be limited. Checking their support or FAQ might clarify which type of redirect they actually allow.

There are a few reasons this could happen. First, check if your domain is correctly connected to Zenfolio by ensuring the DNS records are properly set up (CNAME and A records). Also, confirm that the domain is fully registered and not expired. If everything looks fine, the issue might be caused by DNS propagation, which can take up to 48 hours. If none of these work, Zenfolio support might be able to help troubleshoot.
