Off-page SEO is harder because it depends on external factors. You need to build backlinks from high-authority sites. You must engage with others to improve your online reputation. Both require consistent effort and strategy. You should balance both for the best results. The difficulty depends on your experience and the resources you have available.
 
There is none that it is easy neither the one that is difficult. It all depends on the ability of the SEO marketers. There are some strategies in on-page that is very difficult while there are some that are easy as well. The two only requires consistency and dedication. While some SEO marketers may find on page easier, other may find off-page easier.

The level of expertise on the both skills will surely determine this.
 
In my view, on-page SEO is more straightforward since you control the website and content. Off-page SEO is harder because it involves convincing other sites to link or mention your content, and results take time to appear. I've seen many new site owners struggle with off-page strategies while their on-page work was solid. For long-term success, I think starting with strong on-page SEO is essential, and then gradually building off-page signals helps your rankings grow steadily.

Off-page SEO is a different story. You have to rely on other people and websites to link to you, mention you, or trust your brand. That takes time, patience, and a lot of effort.
 
In my opinion, Off-page SEO is more difficult because you don't control the external factors such backlinks and social signals rather you rely on it. Also, Off-page SEO take time, effort, and strategy to build authority and influence. Think of it like networking. However, it depends on your target.
