It is nearly impossible to run out of domain names. Here are a few reasons why:

1) New TLD's are always coming out and therefore adding exponential possibilities for domain names.
2) Domains are expiring every minute of the day. A lot of people buy domains to either start an idea or website or sit on them in hopes of making a buck. Juggling a bunch of unused domain names can fall to the wayside when it comes time to renew the yearly subscription.
3) People are selling websites constantly. Look at a site like Flippa #1 for Buying and Selling Websites, Domains, and Apps.
4) You can always add more characters on to your domain name to make it unique (up to 63) characters.
5) Let's not forget about subdomains and redirects.

Running out of domain names seems almost impossible to me. New TLDs are always being added, expired domains come back on the market, and people are constantly selling domains or whole websites. Even if the perfect short name is taken, you can add extra words or characters, or use subdomains to make it unique. Redirecting older domains or using them for branding just adds even more options. There's so much flexibility that it's hard to imagine hitting a real limit.

Wow, that's really interesting to know that it's nearly impossible to run out of domain names. I didn't realize there were so many factors that keep the supply going. The constant addition of new TLDs, people letting domains expire, and the ability to get creative with longer domain names - it all adds up to an endless pool of possibilities. And you're right, subdomains and redirects open up even more options. It's good to know that finding a unique domain name, even if the obvious ones are taken, is still very much achievable. Appreciate you breaking down all the reasons why domain scarcity isn't really a concern.
