When should freelancers be expecting payment from the clients?

Timing of the payment is necessary and needed to be discussed for anyone that really want to make it big in freelancing. There are some instances that need to be considered when choosing the time of payment. For instance, it is better for the freelancers to know the right time time. You may consider asking for the payment after the proposals have been accepted by the freelancers and the second payment should be when the tasks have been completed.
 
Freelancers should expect payment based on what was agreed upfront. Usually it's 50% before starting and the rest on delivery. For hourly work it's often weekly or at month end. If there's no clear timeline ask. Don't start big work without a deposit because late payments are way too common.
