I mostly agree with your point trust is key, and audiences are more likely to engage when they feel a connection. But I'd add that promoting a campaign doesn't always have to wait until complete trust is built. Sharing small, helpful content, behind-the-scenes glimpses, or value-driven posts early on can start building credibility while gently introducing your campaign. Hiring a skilled social media marketer definitely speeds up engagement, but even consistent, authentic content from the brand itself can lay the groundwork for successful promotions.
 
I think promotion should start before the main campaign even goes live. A little early awareness, like teasers or small hints, can get people curious and ready. That way, when the campaign fully starts, it doesn't feel sudden and more people pay attention.
