Both whitelisting and blacklisting can help improve campaign performance, but they work in opposite ways. Whitelisting means you only allow traffic from sources that are already working well, while blacklisting blocks traffic that wastes money or brings no results. If a campaign already has data, whitelisting is a good way to focus on what's working and cut down on useless spending. However, if you're still testing or want to reach more people, blacklisting can help filter out the bad traffic while you continue to explore new sources. Some prefer to start with blacklisting during the test phase, then move to whitelisting once they have enough data. Each method has its own benefit depending on how much data you've gathered. It's often about timing and what stage your campaign is in. How would you decide between both methods in your own setup?

Both whitelisting and blacklisting are effective for scaling campaigns, but their use depends on your strategy and campaign performance. Whitelisting works better for scaling because it focuses on high-performing placements or traffic sources. Once you identify top-performing zones, you can allocate more budget to those, ensuring higher ROI. Blacklisting, on the other hand, is useful for cutting out underperforming placements, which helps improve profitability but doesn't necessarily scale traffic. For scaling, start by testing broadly, identify your best zones, and then create a whitelist to focus your budget on proven winners.

When trying to scale push campaigns, whitelisting feels more predictable. It lets you increase bids and spend on traffic that consistently delivers conversions, which is crucial for affiliate marketing. Blacklisting can still be useful to block poor-performing sources, but it doesn't actively help you expand. Whitelisting combined with continuous testing of new high-quality sources usually gives the fastest, most efficient path to scaling campaigns without wasting budget on low-quality clicks.
