There are different types of ads that can be created while using social media advertising. The aim is to entice the users and compel them to attract users. Some them include image ads that will include pictures in different formats like jpeg.

There can also be videos, that includes images and pictures in motions. It is also in different formats including 3gp, MP4 and more.

Some popular ones include carousels, lead ads, slideshow, collection and even canvas ads. Each of these formats has their uniqueness and as well they need to be mastered before using them.

This will allow us to know the right ones for us.
 
Video ads are awesome for showing off your brand and telling a story. Carousel ads let you show a bunch of products or features in one post, which is perfect for online shops. Story ads are quick, vertical, and really grab people's attention. Then there are sponsored posts that just show up in people's feeds, looking kinda natural. You can even do lead ads to get emails or interactive ads like polls and quizzes to get people involved
 
Social media platforms give you tons of options depending on what you want to accomplish. Photo ads are probably the simplest since they are just a single image with some text, but video ads tend to grab more attention if you have the content for it.
 
There's story ads that pop up between people's stories and disappear after 24 hours, so they feel more urgent. Some platforms also have collection ads where people can browse and buy without leaving the app. The format you pick really depends on your budget, what you're selling, and where your audience spends time scrolling.
 
It depends on the platform you're using because each one has different ad formats. Facebook and Instagram have a lot of overlap with things like image posts, reels, and carousel formats. LinkedIn is more professional so sponsored content and message ads work better there. TikTok is all about short videos that blend in with regular content.
 
Image ads are straightforward but can look boring if everyone else is doing video. Video ads cost more to produce but they usually get better engagement if the first few seconds hook people. Carousel ads are good when you have multiple things to show, like a product line or step by step process.
 
Shopping ads are becoming more common too, especially on Instagram and Pinterest where people browse for products. The hard part is matching the ad type to your goal. If you want brand awareness, video works well. If you want direct sales, shopping ads or carousel ads with clear calls to action perform better.
