Ask What steps can I take to redirect an .it domain to other name servers?

I've bought an .it domain some two months ago and have been frantically trying to redirect it to external nameservers. The problem with this is that the DNS settings have to be reviewed by the Italian internet authority or someone, who take their sweet time, so I can attempt to change the DNS only once a week, and every time I tried the new DNS settings were rejected and the DNS was reinstated to those of GoDaddy. I've tried different settings for redirection it to BlueHost nameservers in accordance with the suggestions of both GoDaddy staff and BlueHost staff, neither of whom seems to have any clue on how to redirect them. The only suggestion I am now getting from GoDaddy is to host it with them, which I am dead set not to.

This situation happens often with .it domains because the Italian registry has strict rules for DNS changes. Even if GoDaddy and Bluehost give you the right settings, the registry must approve them before they take effect. That's why your changes keep getting rejected and the DNS goes back to the default. It's frustrating, but the only way forward is patience and making sure every DNS record is exactly as required. Sometimes submitting the change through GoDaddy's control panel multiple times with exact entries eventually works.

I can imagine how annoying this must be! .it domains can be tricky because of the registry rules. One thing you could try is making sure the nameservers you're using are fully configured before submitting them for approval. Sometimes, if they're not set up properly, the registry rejects them. If GoDaddy and BlueHost aren't helpful, maybe you could reach out directly to the Italian registry (NIC.it) for guidance. Hope you find a solution soon!
