Ask What should I do if a freelance client wants to negotiate my rates after we’ve agreed?

I've just started freelancing and recently agreed on a rate with a client. However, now the client wants to negotiate the rate after we've already settled on the terms. I'm not sure how to handle this situation.

I don't want to lose the client, but I also don't want to undervalue my work or feel like I'm being taken advantage of.

Should I stand firm on the original rate or consider compromising to keep the job? How should I approach this conversation without damaging the relationship?

What's the best way to deal with clients who want to renegotiate after agreeing on terms?
