I'm new to freelancing, and I keep hearing that clear communication is important. But I don't fully understand why. Does it just mean replying fast? Or is there more to it?

Some say I should update clients often, but how much is too much? Others say I need to set expectations early, but I don't know the best way to do that. What happens if I make a mistake? Should I admit it right away or try to fix it first?

I want my clients to trust me and feel confident working with me. I don't want to lose projects because of poor communication.
