These keywords are very important in affiliate marketing because they can lead directly to sales. Some people suggest using many of these keywords, but using only buying keywords may limit traffic. A good plan is to mix buying keywords with information keywords so visitors can find the site at different stages. This brings steady growth. What percentage mix sounds reasonable for affiliate keyword planning?
 
A balanced approach usually works best, with roughly 20–30% bottom-of-funnel keywords and the rest focused on informational and mid-funnel content. The reason is simple BOFU keywords convert well but have limited volume, while informational keywords bring steady traffic and help build trust before the purchase decision. Mixing both ensures you're not only chasing buyers but also attracting people earlier in their journey who may convert later.
 
From my experience, I would put a larger share of effort into bottom-of-funnel keywords because those searches often come from people who are close to making a purchase. If I had to estimate, I would focus around 60% to 70% of my keyword targeting on bottom-of-funnel terms and use the rest for informational content that brings in new visitors.
 
There is no perfect percentage, but many successful affiliate sites put roughly 30% to 50% of their effort into bottom-of-funnel keywords. These are keywords like "best," "review," "vs," or "buy" that attract people who are close to making a purchase. They often generate the most affiliate income because the searcher already has strong buying intent.
