Ask What kind of portfolio projects attract paying clients?

From what I have seen, projects that show real results for real businesses tend to attract more serious clients than concept work or personal projects. When someone can look at your portfolio and see work that solved a real problem for another business, it becomes easier for them to imagine you doing the same for them. Projects that look polished but have no story behind them do not create that same feeling of trust. What type of projects have worked best for you when trying to attract paying clients?

If your portfolio has a lot of projects that are the help business owner and individual in their various aspects, the client will be more than willing to work with you. This is what I usually tell my intern anytime they are undergoing a training on freelance from me.
