Recently Google roll out a core algorithm update to improve the search engine user experience. But these has affected a lot of blog out there. An SEO expert stated that those who got affected are engaging in either Black hat or Gray gat SEO.

I keep hearing about "grey hat SEO" and I'm not totally sure what it involves something unreal. I would like to know the kind of techniques fall under grey hat SEO?

Are they safe to use, or could they cause problems down the line? If anyone has experience with grey hat methods or can explain the risks and rewards, that would be super helpful.

Grey hat SEO is kind of in the middle between safe (white hat) and risky (black hat) SEO. It includes techniques that are not strictly against search engine rules, but they might push the limits a little. For example, slightly manipulating backlinks, using spun content carefully, or building private blog networks can be seen as grey hat. It can give results faster than white hat, but it carries some risk.
