For those social media that are getting low engagement on their platforms, there may be many reasons responsible for this. Majority of the social media users may not know the best platform they can make use to have more followers they can engage in.

Timing matters too; if you post when your followers aren't online, hardly anyone sees it. Not talking back to comments or DMs can make people lose interest fast. Posting too much or too little also kills vibes, and sticking to only one type of content gets stale. Plus, social media algorithms keep changing, so even good stuff can get buried. Basically, people tune out when your posts aren't interesting, showing up at the right time, or actually sparking conversations.
 
Apart from the time factor which is truly one of the factors that can cause this, there is another factor that I believe can cause this. Most social media marketers don't write what can captivate the audience. Most times, they don't make use use the best CTR that can make the users want to click the link.
 
Sometimes, low engagement happens because the content no longer matches what people want to see. Audiences change fast, and what worked before may feel boring now. Posting at the wrong time can also reduce reach, even if the content is good. If posts feel too sales-focused or repeat the same idea, people may scroll past. Taking time to review past high-performing posts can help spot what is missing.
 
Low engagement often happens when content isn't valuable, entertaining, or relatable to your audience. It can also result from posting inconsistently, neglecting to interact with followers, or failing to use platform-specific features like Reels or Stories. Ensure you're posting at optimal times, using relevant hashtags, and creating content tailored to your audience's interests.
