Before the internet, freelancers had to rely on word of mouth and personal connections to find work. A writer would send physical letters to newspapers or magazines. A photographer would walk into offices with a portfolio under their arm. There were no job boards or online profiles to hide behind. Everything depended on who you knew and how well you could sell yourself in person. It makes you wonder how different things would be today without all the digital tools we now have. What do you think it was like?
