There are quite a good number of marketing strategies and sales techniques that improve sales but I'm going to take the unconventional route and give just one answer. 1. Empathy: Most sales personnel lack the ability to connect with thier customers interests. When they meet a potential customer they go straight into telling them about their product, how good and reliable it is. This tactic may have worked in the past but customers are becoming more and more complex. People what to loved, they want to know that you care about them and thier story not just the money in thier wallets. Instead of pouring into the customer how good your product is why not show a little emphaty first. Try to discover and pick interest in what interests that customer. Don't even talk about your product until the end of the conversation. While conversing listen attentively with keen interest. This way the customer will believe that you actually care about them then buying your product will be easier.
