I'm a freelancer and recently encountered a sudden cash flow shortage. I'm not sure how to handle it effectively. I've always been able to manage my finances pretty well, but sometimes unexpected gaps happen.

What are the best ways to manage a sudden cash flow shortage in a freelance business? Should I be reaching out to clients for early payments, or is there something else I can do to stay afloat?

You have to start from the beginning. You need to identify what you did that made you not get the cash flow. This will let you the real cause of the issue. So if the solution lies in reaching out to the clients to pay, there is nothing bad in that.
