Ask What are KPIs and how do I choose the right ones for my business?

KPIs mean key performance indicators, which are simple numbers that show how a business is doing. They help you see if your work is bringing results or not. For example, a shop can track sales, website visits, or how many people send messages. The right KPIs depend on your goal, not what others are using. If the goal is sales, focus on orders and revenue. If the goal is growth, focus on traffic and signups. Which KPIs do you think matter most for digital marketing?
 
Think of them like a scorecard that shows whether things are going well or if something needs attention. Examples could be sales growth, website traffic, customer satisfaction, or how much money you're spending. To pick the right KPIs, start with what actually matters to your business right now. Are you trying to grow sales, keep customers, or cut costs? Choose a few metrics that clearly show progress toward those goals. Don't overdo it
 
KPIs are metrics that show whether your business is moving in the right direction. They measure specific goals like revenue growth, customer retention, or website traffic. Not every number you track counts as a KPI though. Only pick metrics that directly connect to your main business objectives.
 
Don't just copy KPIs from other businesses in your industry. Your goals are unique. If you are trying to expand into new markets, track market penetration and regional sales growth. If you are improving customer service, measure response times and satisfaction scores. Make sure each KPI has a clear target so you know when you've succeeded.
 
Saying you want to "increase sales" isn't a KPI. Saying you want to "increase monthly sales by 15% within six months" gives you something concrete to track. Break big goals into smaller metrics you can monitor regularly. If your annual revenue target is $500,000, track monthly revenue to see if you are on pace.
