Some niche site ideas are so unusual that they stand out immediately. A niche site means a website that focuses on one very specific topic, sometimes so specific that it surprises people. Examples can include sites about unusual pets, strange collections, or very narrow hobbies. There have been sites about nothing but rubber ducks, different types of garden gnomes, or even reviewing only one type of snack food. These sites often make people curious because they seem too narrow to attract an audience, yet some still manage to grow. Sometimes the more unusual the idea, the more attention it can get. What are some of the strangest niche websites others have come across? Do you think unique topics like these can actually succeed, or do they usually fade quickly?

Definitely one all about sad potatoes—like, actual potatoes with little sad faces drawn on them. The site was full of pics of these potatoes looking super down, chilling on couches, at parties, or even having some kinda potato therapy session. People actually talked about which potato looked the saddest and made playlists to match their moods. It's totally weird but kinda cute in a weird way. Just shows how the internet can make even the strangest stuff into a whole thing.

The weirdest niche site I've ever seen was one that ranked the best lawn gnomes. The site had detailed reviews of gnomes based on their durability, artistic design, and "gnome charisma." It monetized through Amazon affiliate links and even had a blog section about gnome placement tips for maximum garden aesthetic. It was oddly specific but oddly entertaining!

I was looking for a unique gift and found a whole site dedicated to reviewing and selling fancy, artisanal toothpicks. I am not joking. They talked about the wood types, the flavors, and everything. At first I laughed, but then I spent way too much time reading about them. It just shows you how curious we are as people. We never know what will catch our eye. I would say these sites can definitely succeed because they are so memorable.

The strangest one I've seen was a site dedicated to reviewing public restrooms from around the world. People would submit photos and rate them on cleanliness, design, and even the quality of the toilet paper. It was so bizarre, but it also filled a real need for travelers. It makes you think that any universal human experience, no matter how small, can be a niche.

Some niche sites online are so specific that it almost feels impossible they get traffic, yet somehow they survive for years. There are websites built around single tiny topics, like reviewing only one type of household item or focusing on one strange hobby, and they still manage to attract loyal visitors regularly.
