There is need to know how well our post is engaging with the users. That's why users need to know some social media engagement metrics. These are some common engagement metrics that need to be understood. They include reach, engagement rate and virality rate.

Reach is just like impression but not really impression. It measures the number of time users can see a particular posts. Engagement rate will measure all the engagement that users may have on the platform. For instance, it will measure all the shares, likes and comments.

Virality is the expression of total number of viewers and the number total number of ads, just in a simple and layman interpretation.
 
Things like likes, comments, shares, retweets, saves, and clicks all fall under this. They're useful because they tell you what content actually grabs people's attention and what doesn't. For example, a post with lots of shares might indicate it's highly relatable or entertaining, while a lot of comments could mean it sparked a discussion. Tracking these metrics helps creators and businesses figure out their audience's interests and improve future posts. At the end of the day, it's not just about the number of followers
 
Engagement metrics are a way to measure how active your audience is with your posts. Likes, shares, comments, and reactions all matter because they show which content is resonating. I try to look at these numbers together, not separately, to get a full picture. It's amazing how just a few small changes in content style can boost engagement and make your social media much more effective.
 
It is always better for the social media marketers to know some engagement metrics. For instance, you should know that having reach doesn't mean traffic. Likes for instance too may not be as important as comments. You need to make sure that there is an action while using social media.
