Ask Should Upwork limit the number of proposals each job receives?

Clients on Upwork often open a job post and see hundreds of proposals sitting in their inbox within the first day. This makes it almost impossible to read through every message with care, so many good freelancers get skipped just because their proposal landed too late. Setting a cap on the number of proposals per job could give everyone a fairer chance. Do you think Upwork should place a limit on how many proposals a job can receive?
