Should freelancers ever sign a non-compete agreement?

Most of the times, it is always better not to sign non-compete agreement than to sign it. The agreement will limit you from working with other clients who may even be willing to pay you more than the current one. However, if you believe the pay or what they want to offer you really worth it as well, there is nothing bad in signing the agreement. But there should be at least shorter duration not to limit yourself.
