I am a freelance UI designer and I am juggling 6 clients with different deadlines. I am testing a Kanban dashboard with columns for brief design review and delivery. I am attaching mockups feedback and invoices to each card so I stop digging through emails. I am also color coding rush jobs to see bottlenecks fast. I am sharing a view-only link with clients to cut down status messages.

The question I want ask you guys is that Should freelance designers use visual dashboards to track orders or is it overkill for solo work? Thanks in advance for your response.

Using visual dashboards like a Kanban board can be extremely valuable for freelance designers, especially when juggling multiple clients and deadlines. Here are some reasons why such visual tracking can be beneficial for your workflow:

1. **Organization**: A visual dashboard can help you keep all your projects organized in one place. Having columns for design review, delivery, and other stages can give you a clear overview of where each project stands, making it easier to prioritize and manage your time effectively.

2. **Efficiency**: By attaching mockups, feedback, and invoices to each card, you are centralizing all the necessary information related to a project. This can save you time and effort by reducing the need to dig through emails or multiple folders for specific details.

3. **Prioritization**: Color coding rush jobs can help you quickly identify projects that need immediate attention. This visual cue can help you focus on high-priority tasks and ensure that you meet deadlines without feeling overwhelmed by the workload.

4. **Client Communication**: Sharing a view-only link with clients is a great way to keep them informed about the status of their projects without constantly sending status updates. This can help streamline communication and reduce the back-and-forth messages, allowing you to focus more on the actual design work.

In conclusion, visual dashboards can be a valuable tool for freelance designers, even when working solo. They can help you stay organized, efficient, and focused on delivering high-quality work to your clients. It's definitely not overkill and could potentially improve your workflow and client satisfaction.
