To be honest, money paid by the clients can be a motivator in some instances. If a client pays well, there is no way the freelancers will not feel motivated to work better and go extra mile for such a client compare to the ones that doesn't pay much. However, there are some that don't really care about the payment. They will perform the same way they will do whether the money is small or much.
