Must I have a close relationship with my clients to prove a good freelancer?

There are some freelancers that always make a close relationship with their clients. They do believe that it is a must to do that for them to trust them. These days, some freelancers have normalize it. However, personally I don't think it is necessary for freelancers to know and maintain cordial relationship with their clients to prove that they are good. In fact there are some clients that really don't fancy too much closeness with freelancers

It is good to build a cordial relationship with your client as this will help you in the long run.
