When a member is reported on BMF publisher program, there is a tendency that such a member will not be automatically banned. The moderator can reach out to the other member to hear the side of their stories. This is to ensure fairness in the case.

However, if the issue reported is so obvious and gruesome, such a member may be banned first but will be given access to reach the support for clarification.

It's not like you click report and poof, they're gone. Usually, the moderators check things out first and see what's really going on before doing anything. They'll give the person a chance to explain themselves too. That said, if someone does something really obvious or breaks the rules badly, the team might suspend or ban them right away, and then handle the details after. Bottom line: reporting someone starts the process, but it's not an automatic kick-out.
