Ask Is the freelance market genuinely shrinking because of AI or just shifting to different skills?

Shrinking means there are fewer total jobs and less money moving through the market. Shifting means the jobs are still there but the type of skills being paid for is changing. From what many freelancers are sharing online, it seems more like a shift than a total collapse. Clients are still spending money, but they want people who can work alongside AI tools rather than compete against them. Some older freelance roles are becoming less common while new ones are appearing. Which side do you think is closer to the truth based on what you are currently seeing?
