Ask Is social search actually replacing Google for Gen Z and Gen Alpha?

I have seen younger people asking tiktok or instagram questions before opening google these days. If it's about restaurant, fashion or phone review, they actually want see real videos first instead of reading long articles. Still, I dont think google has lost it completely. When I need detailed information or I want to compare different sources, that's where i still go. Social media moves fast but plenty of wrong information are flying around too. Last month, I still remembered how one guy confidently posted fake specs of a phone and thousands of people believed it. So, the search engines still have their own place as well.

If we are to go by everything the answer is no but some searches, yes. The truth is that most of the Gen Z and Gen Alpha log into TikTok, IG, and YouTube first for "how to," "what to buy," and "what's trending." They want real people, not 10 blog links. But for stuffs like homework, news, and deep research, they still hit Google.
