There is an ongoing debate in freelancing circles about whether having your own website actually brings in better clients or whether it is just extra work that most people will not even notice. Platform profiles are easier to maintain and already get traffic, but a personal site gives you full control over how you present yourself. Neither option is free of tradeoffs. What has your experience been, and do you think the effort of building and maintaining a personal website is actually worth it for someone at your stage?

It is good for you to have your own personal website at least it will give you the opportunity to build authority by posting content on its regularly. Another thing is that you can leverage on it too land a good project by engaging in cold outreach. You can also use it as a reference for the client to build your authority
